Dubai: A must watch after 5 years ...

Just an eye on what is happening in Dubai ... (And believe me this is just a small part of it ...)
Dubai's Sheikh has brought up this city from nowhere to top of the world, in merely 20 years ...

I think this is how the leaders should be ... I think !!

Some of Dubai's projects completed/Running -

Burj-Al-Arab:
What to tell about this ...?
world's tallest free-standing hotel ... the only claimed 7-Star of the world ... cost almost $2000 for a night stay ...
The sad part is ... not open for tourists :(

Burj Tower (2010):
World's Tallest Skyscraper (2684 Ft), more than 1000 Ft taller than second highest (Taipai 101 - 1671 Ft).

Palm Islands:
What about a society having all flats with a sea view? This residential society is created on an artificial island.

The World:
Another residential built on artificial island, shape of world map.

Dubai Towers:
A four-tower complex ... the towers twist, wave, taper ... all at the same time ...

Burj Al Alam:
A commercial tower, Designed to resemble a crystal flower ...

Hydropolis:
World's first underwater luxury hotel.

Rotating Tower:
Do not have words to explain this building ...

Palm Trump Hotel:

Anara Towers:

These are all architectural wonders Ritesh. The economy is still dependent on oil, which is fast diminishing...what say?

These architectural wonders will surely open gates for huge tourism revenue ... atleast they are getting ways to improve economy when oil is diminishing, which is really not in their hand to control ...
And investing money in wonders is definitely far better than all money grabbed by corrupt employees.

Well Dubai is a financial hub, and financial hubs cannot sustain on Tourism alone. You need a proper fundamentally sound economy for that.

I agree to this point ... but do you say, they should have invested this money in better things? If yes, where?
